01 | Before first use
Read this first.
Inspect DESK, its stand, handle, cables and accessories before connecting power.
Important safety points
- Use the supplied eye protection and do not stare directly into the LEDs.
- Keep at least 11cm between skin and the light-emitting surface.
- Place DESK on a firm, level surface that can safely support its weight.
- Open the support stand fully and confirm that the panel cannot tip.
- Keep cables away from desk edges, walkways and the support stand.
- Keep DESK dry and never cover its ventilation openings.
- Stop immediately if you experience discomfort or an unexpected reaction.
- Seek professional advice before use if you have been advised to avoid bright or near-infrared light.

If anything is missing or damaged: do not assemble or switch on DESK. Contact PRFRM 1 support first.
03 | Setup and positioning
Set up DESK.
DESK is designed for targeted use from a stable tabletop, worktop or similar level surface.
Inspect the panel
Check the enclosure, touchscreen, stand, ventilation slots and cable sockets for damage.
Check the handle
If the handle is supplied separately, secure it only at the designated points. Confirm it is firm before lifting DESK.
Open the stand
Place DESK on a level surface and open the rear support until the panel holds the required angle securely.
Position and connect
Leave ventilation clearance, confirm DESK is switched off, then connect the power cable firmly.
Position DESK safely
Distance
Never place skin closer than 11cm. Starting farther away, such as approximately 30cm, can make positioning and comfort easier to assess.
Stability
Keep the entire stand on the supporting surface. Do not place DESK where it can be pulled down by its cable or knocked from an edge.
04 | Touchscreen operation
Using the touchscreen.
The welcome screen appears for approximately 1.5 seconds before the main menu opens.

|---|---|
| Smart | Opens the six built-in Routine Presets. |
| Custom | Opens RED brightness, NIR brightness, timer and NIR pulse controls. |
| Group | Assigns DESK to remote-control Group 1, 2 or 3. Group 1 is the default. |
| OFF / ON | Starts or stops the selected Smart or Custom programme. |
| OK | Confirms the selected Custom value and returns to the previous screen. |
Custom controls

Adjust the controller’s near-infrared output group from 0% to 100%.
Session timer
Set a duration from 1 to 30 minutes with the slider or plus and minus controls, then select OK.
NIR pulse
Set near-infrared pulse from 0 to 40Hz. Pulse does not apply to the RED output group.
Group selection
Select Group 1, 2 or 3 to match the remote control.
Screen timeout
The screen switches off after approximately two minutes without touch, or 30 seconds after remote use. Touch the screen to wake it.
05 | Routine Presets
Routine Preset settings.
The confirmed DESK Routine Preset settings are shown below.
About the Routine Preset names
These names reproduce or clarify controller labels so that you can identify the correct option. A Routine Preset name does not mean that DESK diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a medical condition.
| Routine Preset | RED 480 / 630 / 660nm | NIR 810 / 830 / 850 / 1060nm | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Joint Care | 100% | 100% | 20 min |
| Face / Eyes | 50% | 50% | 10 min |
| Sleep | 20%-0% | 20%-0% | 30 min |
| Skin | 60% | 60% | 10 min |
| Workout | 100% | 100% | 30 min |
| Mood / Wellness | 80% | 80% | 15 min |
Channel groups: on the seven-wavelength DESK, the touchscreen’s RED control adjusts the visible-light channels at 480, 630 and 660nm together. The NIR control adjusts 810, 830, 850 and 1060nm together. Although the controller uses the label RED, 480nm is a blue visible-light wavelength.
Sleep mode: the confirmed table expresses both RED and NIR as reducing from 20% to 0% during the 30-minute programme.
Pulse settings: the confirmed Routine Preset table does not state pulse values. No pulse figures have been added or assumed.
06 | Remote control
Using the remote.
The remote provides direct access to brightness, time, pulse, Routine Presets and group pairing.
RED and NIR
Selects the brightness group to adjust.

09 | Troubleshooting
Quick checks.
Switch off and unplug DESK before checking the stand, handle, cables or connections.
DESK will not switch on
Check the wall outlet, mains cable and panel connection. Stop if anything appears damaged.
The remote does not respond
Confirm that DESK and the remote use the same group number.
DESK feels unstable
Unplug it and reposition the stand on a firm, level surface with its full footprint supported.
The selected angle slips
Stop using DESK until the stand and its fixing points have been checked.
The screen has switched off
This can be normal after inactivity. Touch the screen to wake it.
Some LEDs look unlit
Near-infrared wavelengths can be difficult to see. Check the touchscreen instead of staring into the light.
Pulse is unavailable for RED
This is expected. Pulse applies only to the near-infrared output group.
The timer starts with an earlier value
The Custom timer retains the last confirmed value. Open Timer, set the required duration and select OK.
