PRFRM 1 | User manual
BEAM user manual.
Assembly, positioning, touchscreen controls, Routine Presets, technical specifications and important safety information for PRFRM 1 BEAM.
01 | Before first use
Read this first.
Inspect the light head, stand, joints, cables and supplied hardware before assembling or switching BEAM on.
Important safety points
- Use the supplied eye protection and do not stare directly into the LEDs.
- Begin at approximately 30cm. Never position skin closer than 11cm.
- Place the base on a level, stable surface and check every connection.
- Support the light head before loosening or adjusting a joint.
- Keep fingers, hair and loose clothing away from pivot and pinch points.
- Stop immediately if you experience discomfort or an unexpected reaction.
- Keep BEAM dry and do not cover its ventilation openings.
- Seek professional advice before use if you have been advised to avoid bright or near-infrared light.

03 | Assembly and positioning
Assemble BEAM.
Assemble BEAM on a level, protected surface. Use the diagrams together with the written steps below.
Step 5
Step 7
Prepare the parts
Lay the base, rods, arm, light head, knobs, washers and screws on a clean surface.
Remove the joint knob
Turn the arm-joint knob anticlockwise. Keep the washers and nut in their supplied order.
Position the washers
Place the washers and nut into their corresponding grooves. Washer 2 is the thinnest.
Insert the arm
Hold the washers and nut in position while inserting the adjustable arm into its bracket.
Refit the knob
Insert the joint knob and tighten it clockwise until the arm is secure.
Build the stand
Fit the support rod into the chassis, tighten clockwise, then raise the upper rod.
Fit the light head
Support the light head, place it on the arm with the knob to the side, and tighten every retaining screw.
Complete the checks
Move each joint slowly and confirm that the head holds position without dropping.
Adjust the stand safely
Joint tension
Each joint should move smoothly when deliberately adjusted and hold its selected position without dropping.
If it does not hold, support the head and carefully increase tension before use.
Avoid pinch points
Do not adjust tension while another person is positioned beneath or beside the light head.
Keep hands, fingers, hair and loose clothing away from every pivot.
Connect the power
Confirm that BEAM is switched off. Connect the power cable firmly, then connect it to a suitable wall outlet. Route the cable away from the base, walkways and moving joints.
04 | Touchscreen operation
Using the touchscreen.
The welcome screen appears for approximately 1.5 seconds before the main menu opens.
| Control | What it does |

Custom controls
Red brightness
Adjust the 660nm red channel between 0% and 100%.
NIR brightness
Adjust the combined 810nm, 850nm and 1060nm output between 0% and 100%.
Session timer
Set a duration between 0 and 30 minutes, then select OK to retain the value.
NIR pulse
Set near-infrared pulse between 0 and 40Hz. Pulse does not apply to the red channel.
Group selection
Select Group 1, 2 or 3. Group 1 is the default.
Start the programme
Confirm the values, return to the programme screen and switch the light output on.
05 | Routine Presets
Routine Preset settings.
The confirmed BEAM Routine Preset settings are shown below.
About the Routine Preset names
These names reproduce controller labels so that you can identify the correct option. A Routine Preset name does not mean that the device diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a medical condition.
| Routine Preset | RED 660nm | NIR 810 / 850 / 1060nm | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Joint Care | 30% | 100% | 8 min |
| Skin & Face | 50% | 50% | 10 min |
| Hair Growth | 100% | 100% | 15 min |
| Brain | 80% | 80% | 20 min |
| Muscle Recovery | 100% | 100% | 10 min |
Channel groups: each Routine Preset percentage applies to every wavelength within that output group. RED controls the 660nm channel. NIR controls the 810, 850 and 1060nm channels together.
Pulse settings: the confirmed Routine Preset table does not state pulse values. No pulse figures have been added or assumed.
Save your own Preset
Open Preset
Select Smart, scroll to Preset and open it.
Select Set
Select Set to open the brightness, timer and pulse controls.

09 | Troubleshooting
Quick checks.
Switch off and unplug BEAM before checking cables, stand fixings or connections.
BEAM will not switch on
Check the wall outlet, mains cable and light connection. Stop if anything appears damaged.
The remote does not respond
Confirm that BEAM and the remote use the same group number.
The light head drops
Stop using BEAM, support the head and adjust joint tension before restarting.
The stand feels unstable
Unplug BEAM and check the base, rods, arm and every fixing.
There are no control sounds
Press and hold Group to check whether Mute is enabled.
Some LEDs look unlit
Near-infrared wavelengths can be difficult to see. Check the touchscreen instead of staring into the light.
Pulse is unavailable for red
This is expected. Pulse applies only to the near-infrared channels.
The Preset was not retained
Open Preset, choose Set, enter the values and select SET before leaving the screen.
